It’s not about Me!
Mark 16:15 states, “GO ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” The first time that I was introduced to soul-winning in a Rodney Howard-Browne meeting, I was terrified. I could not think about walking up to someone and talking to them, NO WAY!, not me. But as time went on, I decided that it was time to obey the word of the Lord, and try this “GO YE.”
I remember the day that I walked up to that laundry mat, shaking at my knees. I saw a lady with her two small children sitting at a table folding her clothes. I went up to her and introduced myself . I sat down at the table and asked if she would like some help folding her clothes. As I did, the Holy Spirit came upon me and I felt an overwhelming peace. I began to ask her and her children if anyone ever told them that God loved them and had an awesome plan for their lives. Very shyly, she responded with a “no”. I began to give her some scriptures on what the Bible reads. I shared with her that “All of us has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That the wages of our sin is death…BUT the gift of God is eternal life!” As I proceeded, I asked her if she would like to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior. And she did! I could not believe that it was that easy.
That evening I felt something that I had never felt before. I realized that this life is not about ME, but it is all about HIM! All that I could think was how will people know unless I tell them? That night at the laundry mat, I got a passion for souls. I could not believe that their were actually people in my neighborhood that had never heard about Him. When I saw people, it was no longer about me and how I felt, but it was all about HIM! Just the thought of knowing, that God could use me to take someone out of the pit of hell and give them an opportunity to know Him as their Lord and Savior. If He can use me, He definitely use you.
I totally know what you are talking about. I remember the first time I went too. I was so scared, but lucky for me I had a friend with me from the River Bible Institute who went with me and encouraged me to speak to people. That day I am excited to say that I had the opportunity to pray the salvation prayer with over 60 people. It was awesome and it ignited a passion in my life for people and the Lost!

fear is really stupid isn’t it?? irritates me when there is a person who needs Jesus and fear is trying to make me walk by them. I pray all the time for more boldness and obedience. He is an example of boldness. The Word says ‘they that know the Lord will be strong and do exploits.

Praise God, there are other people out there excited about leading others to Jesus. Thank God for pastor and this Great Awakening Tour, America needs it.

yeah-it’s great being in a group of people who don’t see skin color or social position..only categories they see are ‘saved’ and ‘about to be saved’. learned that from pastor. lots of other tools.

It is an awesome feeling when you realize that people are now on their way to heaven because you obeyed the word of God. There is nothing more fulling than doing the works of Jesus. You were made to be God’s hands and feet. I thank God for ministries like Rodney Howard Browne’s that equip people to win the lost. Not only do they equip you, but they give people the tools to soul win for free.

That is right Henry! I Thank God that other people are getting a passion for the lost. It is happening all over America since pastor has been doing the Great Awakening Tour. I got a passion for the lost in one of the his meetings years ago and I am still winning souls today.

Paul- I know what you mean, it is an awesome feeling to lead someone to the Lord! I have become addicted to soul winning now. It happened in a meeting.

I agree with you about the only color that they see there is the color. The blood of Jesus. People are on their way to hell and all we have to do is open our mouth and read the gospel soul winning script and they will get saved.

Janet- I checked out the site. Those pictures of the Great Awakening Tour in Carrollton, TX are awesome! It says that thousands made a decision for Christ. That is powerful!

Don’t you sense a rise in hunger/desparation in people? The momentum is building. If you look at the stats from the beginning of the tours you can see that multiplication is taking place. It’s like the way Pastor preaches about the miracle of the loaves and fishes. You don’t realize you are in the middle of a miracle cuz you only see the small little piece in your hand-but when you look back –WOW.
